Fortnum & Mason
Bespoke Timber Revolving Door
Fortnum & Mason is one of the most luxurious department stores in the world, providing a treasure trove of hampers, teas and coffees, wines and spirits, homeware and gifts. It was established as a grocery store in 1707 by William Fortnum and Hugh Mason in Piccadilly, London, and today it has additional stores at St Pancras railway station and Heathrow Airport, as well as Dubai.
The Recommended Entrance Provider
Boon Edam was selected as the main supplier for the bespoke entrance after being recommended to Martin Brudnizki Design Studio by Fortnum & Mason due to its speciality in revolving doors. From the first point of contact, it was clear that Boon Edam would be supplying a decorative hand-made wooden door – with a modern twist – in a relatively short lead time to meet the deadline for the grand opening ‘The entrance to the restaurant is essential,’ says Lisa Phillips, Head of Property at Fortnum & Mason, who was closely involved throughout the whole project.
