Boon Edam Ltd Celebrates Cycling 100 Miles in Aid of Pilgrims Hospices
On Sunday 24th September, four employees of global entry solutions provider Boon Edam Ltd took part in Velo 100 to raise money for Pilgrims Hospices. They joined 15,000 other cyclists on the 100-mile challenge, cycling an unforgettable journey from city to countryside, showcasing the best of Birmingham and the West Midlands.
So far, the team has raised a huge £1,325.15 for Pilgrims Hospices. The East Kent charity specialises in providing free of charge, end of life care. In addition to providing palliative care, the charity offers bereavement support, physiotherapy, welfare advice and day therapy activities.
Andrew Hamilton, National Sales Manager at Boon Edam Ltd, commented, “Boon Edam Ltd decided to fundraise for Pilgrims Hospices as we strongly commend the fantastic palliative care and support provided by the charity. It costs £14 million every year to keep the charity running; only 25% of its funding comes from the NHS, leaving the remaining £11 million to be sourced from donations alone. We’re pleased to have fundraised for such a worthwhile cause.”
There’s still time to donate to Pilgrim’s Hospices on behalf of Boon Edam. Simply visit the Boon Edam fundraising page here.
